The platform console

Where it lives, who sees it, and how it differs from a library back office.

The platform console is the central place where you manage every library on Shelfwise.

Where it lives

  • Apex: tryshelfwise.com/super-admin
  • Dedicated: admin.tryshelfwise.com (auto-rewrites to /super-admin)

Who can access

Only patrons with role = "super_admin". The platform owner. Other admins/librarians can't reach it.

What's there

  • Platform Overview — totals across all libraries (patrons, books, active loans)
  • Libraries — list every tenant, manage subdomains, edit settings
  • Sales Leads — every /contact-sales submission, pipeline status

Difference from a library back-office

  • Library back-office: scoped to one tenant
  • Platform console: cross-tenant, see all libraries at once

Why it's separate

Mixing them would let any tenant's admin accidentally see other tenants' data — a privacy nightmare. The clean separation prevents that.

Visiting a tenant

From a library's detail page, click "Visit public site" or "Open back office" to load that tenant's URL in a new tab.

Permissions inside a tenant

When you visit a tenant's back office, you're logged in there as a super_admin and have full admin-equivalent permissions. Use sparingly.
