Delete a library safely

Permanently remove a library from the platform.

Where

Super-admin → Libraries → click a library → Settings → Delete library

What gets deleted

• The library record
• All patrons (and their loan history)
• All books, copies, loans, holds
• All settings
• Subscription is cancelled with Stripe (no refund)

What's preserved

• Aggregate platform analytics (anonymized after delete)
• Sales lead history pointing to this library (the converted_library_id stays for reference)
• Email log (purged after 30 days)

Confirmation

You must type the library's slug to confirm. Prevents accidental deletes.

Cannot delete if

• The library has an active Stripe subscription (cancel first)
• The library is the platform's seed library
• The library has been flagged for legal hold

Recovery

After delete, data is purged within 24 hours. Recovery is not possible. If you need a backup, email hello@tryshelfwise.com to set up a regular backup arrangement.
