A cover won't upload

A book cover won't upload.

Common reasons

• File too large (max 5MB)
• File is the wrong type (only JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG)
• Browser cache issue
• Storage bucket isn't configured
• Network interruption

Check the file

• Right-click → Properties (or Info)
• Confirm size is under 5MB
• Confirm format is supported

Try a different file

If one image fails but another works, the issue is with that specific file. Common culprits:

• Image is corrupted (re-export from original source)
• Image has an unusual MIME type (HEIC, AVIF) — convert to JPEG/PNG

Check the bucket

Settings → Catalog → Storage Status. If you see "Bucket not configured", the storage bucket needs setup. Contact hello@tryshelfwise.com.

Network issues

Try uploading on a different network (mobile hotspot vs office WiFi). Some networks block large uploads.

Browser cache

• Hard refresh and try again
• Or use a private window
