Save a book for later (bookmarks)
How bookmarks work and where they live.
Bookmark books you want to come back to. Saved books appear in your portal under "Saved books".
How to save a book
On any book card or detail page:
- Click the bookmark icon (the ribbon shape in the top-right of a card)
- The icon fills in to show it's saved
The book is added to your "Saved books" list immediately. No confirmation needed.
Where saved books live
Portal → Saved books → list of every book you've bookmarked, newest first.
You can also filter the main catalogue to "My saved" to see only your bookmarks while browsing.
Removing a save
Click the bookmark icon again. The icon empties and the book is removed from your list.
You can also remove from the portal — find the book in "Saved books" and click "Remove".
How saving compares to holds
- Save (bookmark) — "I might want this later." No queue impact. Doesn't reserve a copy.
- Hold — "I want this when available." Goes into the queue. The next available copy is set aside for you.
Save books for later browsing. Place a hold when you actually want to borrow.
How many can I save?
Unlimited. Save as many as you'd like.
Are my saves private?
Yes. Only you can see your saved books. Librarians can see them if they look at your patron record, but other patrons cannot.
Family saves
Each family member has their own saved books. There's no shared family bookmark list (unless your library has enabled that as a custom feature).
