Your patron portal

A tour of loans, holds, saved books, and family view.

Your patron portal is where you manage everything about your library account — current loans, holds, saved books, your family.

Where to find it

After signing in at yourlibrary.tryshelfwise.com/auth/login, click "My account" in the menu, or go directly to /portal.

What's on the portal

  • Welcome banner — Your name, number of active loans/holds/saved
  • My loans — Books you currently have checked out, due dates, renewal buttons
  • My holds — Books you've placed holds on, your position in the queue
  • Saved books — Bookmarks you've made for later
  • Family — Other people in your family and what they have out
  • Account settings — Update email, phone, password
  • Notifications — Recent emails sent to you

Loans section

For each active loan you see:

  • The book cover, title, author
  • Due date — Highlighted yellow when within 3 days, red when overdue
  • Renew button — When the renewal window is open
  • "Show similar" — Recommendations after this book

Holds section

For each active hold:

  • Book cover and title
  • Status: "Waiting" (in the queue), "Ready" (waiting for you to pick up), or "Pending"
  • Your position in the queue if waiting
  • Estimated availability (when possible to predict)
  • Cancel button

Family section

If you're in a family (most members are):

  • Other family members listed with their loan counts
  • Tap a member to see what they have checked out
  • "Add a family member" if you're an adult in the family

Mobile

The portal is mobile-first. Everything works on your phone. Bookmark yourlibrary.tryshelfwise.com/portal for quick access.
