Why my login isn't working on this subdomain

Tenant-scoped accounts and the "wrong library" error.

"That account is registered with a different library." Here's what it means and how to fix it.

What you're seeing

You try to sign in at yourlibrary.tryshelfwise.com and get the error message. Sign-in is blocked.

Why this happens

Each Shelfwise account belongs to one specific library. Trying to sign in at a different library's subdomain triggers the error.

How to fix it

## I'm trying the right library

If you're sure you're using the right URL but still see the error:

  • Try resetting your password from this library's sign-in page
  • The reset email will tell you which library the account is on
  • Sign in at THAT library instead

## I want to use multiple libraries

You need a separate account for each library. Each account uses its own email address. Common workarounds:

  • Use jane@example.com for library A and jane+library@example.com for library B (Gmail treats + variants the same inbox)
  • Use different email providers for each library

## I'm a librarian at two libraries

Contact hello@tryshelfwise.com — we can sometimes link librarian accounts across libraries. Not common but supported.

Avoiding this in the future

Bookmark each library's URL. Visit the bookmarked URL to sign in, not the apex tryshelfwise.com.
