Sign in with password vs magic link

Sign in to your library with a password, magic link, or both.

Password sign-in

• Enter email and password
• Press "Sign in"
• You're in

Best when: you sign in daily and remember the password.

Magic link

• Enter email
• Click "Send magic link"
• Check your inbox
• Click the link in the email
• You're in (no password needed)

Best when: you don't sign in often, or you don't want another password.

Choosing which to use

Both work for the same account. You can use whichever you prefer each time.

Setting up your password

First-time login: a magic link is sent. After clicking it, you can set a password from Settings → Account → Set Password.

Forgot password

• On the sign-in page, click "Forgot password"
• Enter your email
• Get a reset link
• Click the link → set new password

Session length

• Sign-in lasts ~30 days
• Inactive sessions auto-expire after 90 days
• Sign out manually from the user menu → Sign out

Multiple devices

You can be signed in on multiple devices at once. Signing out on one doesn't sign you out on others. To sign out everywhere, change your password.
