Currency, timezone, and locale

Date format and the default timezone used by cron jobs.

Set your library's currency, date format, and default timezone.

Where

Settings → Locale → fields for each

Timezone

Default: America/Chicago (US Central). Where it matters:

  • Cron jobs (reminder emails go out at the configured hour in this timezone)
  • Loan due dates (calculated relative to the timezone)
  • Date display in the back office and patron portal

Currency

Default: USD. Where it matters:

  • Stripe billing currency (set once at signup; changing later requires account migration)
  • Replacement fee displays (if configured)
  • Donation requests in receipts (if configured)

Date format

Choose:

  • MM/DD/YYYY (US default)
  • DD/MM/YYYY (most international)
  • YYYY-MM-DD (ISO)

Time format

  • 12-hour (3:00 PM)
  • 24-hour (15:00)

Language

English is the only fully supported language currently. Other languages (Spanish, French, German) are in beta — contact us to enable.

Per-patron timezone

Some patrons may be in a different timezone (e.g., college students). Their loan due dates still use the library's timezone, but their personal portal shows times in their local timezone (auto-detected from their browser).
