Customize email templates

Customize every email Shelfwise sends to patrons.

Where

Settings → Email Templates

Templates available

• Patron invitation
• Hold ready for pickup
• Hold expiring
• Loan due in 3/1 days, day of, overdue
• Loan renewed
• Loan returned (if configured)
• Reading recap
• Trivia event reminders
• Welcome email
• Account blocked
• Account unblocked

Editing a template

• Click a template
• Subject line and body show
• Edit either
• Save

Variables

Use variables in your text — they're replaced when the email sends. Available variables:

• {patron_first_name}
• {patron_last_name}
• {book_title}
• {book_author}
• {due_date}
• {library_name}
• {library_logo_url}

Type {variable_name} and we replace it. If the variable isn't applicable for that template, it's left as-is.

Testing

Send a test email to yourself: Settings → Email Templates → [template] → "Send test to me". Includes a sample payload so you can see how it'll look.

Toggling templates on/off

Each template has an Active toggle. Off means no emails of that type are sent. Useful for muting certain notifications.

Resetting to default

Each template has "Reset to default". Removes your custom edits and restores the original.
