Hide features from a role
Per-feature toggles in the access matrix.
The access matrix lets super-admins toggle individual features on or off for each role.
Where (super_admin only)
Settings → Access → grid showing roles (Member, Librarian, Admin) on one axis and features on the other
What you can toggle
- Billing access (default: Admin only)
- Analytics access (default: Admin only)
- Bulk operations (default: Admin only)
- Custom genres (default: Admin only)
- Custom topics (default: Admin only)
- Email templates (default: Admin only)
- Sidebar reorder (default: super_admin only)
How it works
- Default: each feature has a default role minimum
- Override: super-admin can extend access to a lower role
- Restrict: super-admin can hide a feature from a normally-allowed role
Example
By default, only Admins can edit email templates. To let your Librarians edit them too:
- Settings → Access → Email Templates row → toggle Librarian on
- Save
Librarians now see the Email Templates section in their sidebar.
Per-tenant
Each tenant has its own access matrix. A super-admin platform owner can have different access rules for each tenant.
Why this is super-admin only
Access decisions affect security. Letting admins grant access to themselves creates a recursive problem; keeping the matrix super_admin-only ensures only the platform owner makes those calls.
