- Provide a small return basket beside the kiosk
Signage
- "Self-checkout — scan your card to get started"

- A "Need help? Ring the bell" sign
Monitor occasionally
- Walk past the kiosk to make sure it's responsive
- Check for stuck transactions weekly
- Restart the tablet weekly (resets background apps)
Train your staff
- Show them how to override (admin sign-in)
- Show them how to clear a stuck session
Patron training
