How Shelfwise sends email

Resend and your sender domain.

Shelfwise sends emails via Resend, a transactional email service.

Sender address

Default: hello@tryshelfwise.com. Custom: set up your own (see "Email deliverability").

What gets sent

See "Loan and hold notification emails" for the full list.

Tracking

Every email sent is logged in Settings → Email Log with:

  • Recipient
  • Subject
  • Send time
  • Status (sent, opened, clicked, bounced)
  • Resend's message ID

Delivery success rate

Typical: 95%+. Bounces are usually:

  • Invalid email address (typo)
  • Mailbox full
  • Spam filter (rare with proper SPF/DKIM/DMARC setup)

Custom sender

For your library to send from library@yourorg.org instead of hello@tryshelfwise.com:

  • Verify your domain in Resend
  • Set up SPF, DKIM, DMARC records (see "Email deliverability")
  • Update Settings → Email → From Address

Reply behaviour

By default, replies to library emails go to hello@tryshelfwise.com. To route replies to your library:

  • Settings → Email → Reply-To → enter your library's email
  • Patrons replying to a hold-ready email go to that address
